What happens after a referral?

We make contact to arrange an assessment appointment, this will be by telephone or email.

How long is an assessment?

30 minutes.

Why do you only offer face to face assessment appointments?

Our priority is safeguarding, from experience we find that assessments can cause a few triggers and we want to keep you safe, we find the best way to do this is to be in the room with you to ensure that you have the correct level of support. Assessments can only be conducted at out North Shields or Blyth office.

Do you have disabled access?

Can I have remote counselling?

In your assessment we will discuss this with you and together we will work out what we can offer.

How long is your waiting list for counselling?

Minimum of 7 months.

How long is counselling?

Counselling appointments are for 50 minutes, and appointment are the same day and time each month, you will work with your counsellor to see how many appointments will be beneficial to you and this will be reviewed every 8 sessions.

What if I would like a new counsellor?

Please call the office on 01912578094 or send us an email at enquiries (@) someonecares.org.uk and we will discuss all options with you.

My availability has changed

First please discuss this with your counsellor and if they are unable to accommodate you, we will discuss other options.

I have ended my counselling; can I return in the future?

Yes, we would recommend that you have a short break however you are always welcome to return if you feel we can assist you.

I have missed my appointment.

Please call the office on 01912578094 and we can discuss making a new appointment.
