Counselling – From referral to exit.

We provide counselling support to those whose lives have been negatively affected by abuse.

Once a referral comes into our office, we will contact you to arrange an initial assessment appointment, this appointment will take a maximum of 30 minutes.

All initial appointments will be followed up with an email or text message and reminders will follow, we will always ask verbal consent before we send messages, and we never send letters unless requested by you.

Unfortunately, we can only offer face to face assessment appointments, the reason for this is to ensure we can safeguard you and provide you with the correct level of support.

In the initial assessment we will take some information from you so that we can ensure we can support you in the correct way, we will explain how we store your information and talk about confidentiality.

After your initial assessment we will place you on the waiting list for a suitable counsellor, we will give you updated information on waiting times each time we speak to you.

Once we have a suitable counsellor, we will contact you to arrange your first appointment.

Counselling appointments will then be the same day and time each week and reviewed every 8 sessions to ensure counselling is still beneficial to your needs.

Counselling is individual and you will work with your counsellor to find what works best for you to reach your goals.

If you feel your allocated counsellor is not right for you,  please let us know and we will find you an alternative counsellor.

When you have exited the service, you can always return if required, all we ask if you have a period away to give you time to process what you have learnt in counselling.
